Founder and CEO of a youth organization, Health coach, Youth fitness Instructor Facilitator, and Speaker, Sharmaine Brown loves to help others and give back to her community. Although something precious was taken from her, she still strives to strengthen individuals starting with our youth. She is a true inspiration.
Jared is the name of the Angel looking over the Jared’s Heart of Success non-profit organization that originator ,Sharmaine Brown, created. Jared is her son, whose life was cut short by a stray bullet on July 11, 2015. The vision to educate and engage the youth about the importance of their health, nutrition, and total wellness, was inspired from God after the untimely passing of Jared. Jared’s Heart of Success provides educational workshops, tutoring, mentoring to youth and scholarships to graduating seniors.
This organization has banded together with several organizations in the Atlanta Area and have facilitated educational workshops and programs to best fit the age level and abilities set of the individuals. Organizations that include Dekalb County Youth On Commission, Stone Mountain Community Center, and Gwinnett School System. The programs that are currently implemented are:
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math)
Health and Wellness
Mentoring and Leadership Program
Self-Esteem and Peer-Pressure workshops
Anti-Bullying workshops and more to come!
Sharmaine adores being able to help others and give back because it is rewarding. One of her organizations biggest accomplishments was being a light in her community and being able to provide services to a summer camp for the entire summer. She gave out 51 book bags filled with school supplies to the underprivileged. Being the new kid on the block, Shermaine is confronted with many difficulties too. Finding funding and seeking donations for her programs would be one of her biggest challenges, she has spent a considerable amount of her personal finances to fund her organization and it's mission. Sharmaine sees these challenges as test and she doesn't let this interfere with her passion. Sharmaine's best advice to give to anyone starting their own business or non-profit organization is to....
"Pray about what it is that you want to do and once God gives you the vision move and get it done. It will be hard, but if he gives it to you he will supply what you need"
Following her own advice, Sharmaine will be blessed in August to be a certified priceless project facilitator. She plans to facilitate the Priceless Project, where she intends to implement it into a mentoring program to motivate and teach the youth and young adults how to build self-esteem, be self-confident and recognize their potential and self-worth. This program will also have the necessary tools and resources to help children become successful leaders. Creating programs like this, hosting summits, and organizing back to school youth conferences in the state of Georgia and South Carolina, Sharmaine expanded to the arts. She collaborated with our brand and worked with me, to organize an event where children can spend the day expressing themselves through art. The Positivity Brand raised $341 and was able to supply 56 summer camp kids with canvases, paint, paint brushes, aprons, and a very skilled artist, Jasmyne Johnson, to instruct them into creating a beautiful painting of a turtle swimming. Other artist and friends who support our brand came out to help assist and join in the fun. The children enjoyed the experience and were excited to give their artwork to their parents.
