To Whom It May Concern:
Life… what does it mean to be alive? What does it mean to love? What does it mean to be a man? The answer is simple. If you let them tell it. But they not the ones asking the questions. Life has many ways of testing a person’s will, either by having nothing happen at all or by everything happening all at once. What would you do? That’s another question you gotta answer as you walk through this jungle called life. Beware the evil. It’s all around you. Apart of it is in you. The biggest question is will you let it consume you? It almost consumed me once. I was young and misguided, dealing with the pain of the world however the world told me to. Most of the time these worldly remedies accomplished nothing but more hurt to my soul. It wasn’t until after I realized what bondages I was making for myself, or were generationally manifesting, that I sought to be free. Free in mind and spirit. Rich in mind and spirit. But before I was able to free my mind, I first needed to be aware. Awareness is almost invaluable. It can save your life, literally. The novel “The Odyssey” in my eyes is a perfect representation of us all. The countless battles between love and lust. Pride and patience. Humbleness and anger. Discipline. Desires. You name it. The trials and tribulations that Odysseus (the main character) endured are what defined him but, more importantly is what he learned from those moments of adversity. Never be afraid to go against the norm. Whether that be becoming celibate, sober, or anything else in between. Be BOLD in who you are and what God made you to represent. My album “The Odyssey of Me” hopes to exemplify all of that. The journey of manhood or womanhood. The journey of self and evolution. Not only for me, but for you too. What’s your odyssey?
